(Fill In Blank) ations

http://www.runcations.com
  • My body is in definite need of either a rest or cross training day.
  • Since, the muscle groups which I have been using, need to relax in order to regenerate, gain strength.
  • But I am in such a fabulous place, I like to think that I am on a "runcation."  This is a word, which I thought I invented today, until I Googled it.  Now the Outer Banks of North Carolina is in strong contention for a near future destination.  See http://www.runcations.com.
  • Today, the bathing suit comes on and there will be walking on wet sand.  Not a bad idea for cross training, eh?
  • Below you'll see how my training is going.  My first 10K is on Sunday, and I'm concerned since I have not nearly trained enough.  But I'm ready to face it nonetheless.

The race is one of the premier 10K’s held in all New York City. Given its proximity to the NYC Marathon, many athletes see Restoration’s 10K as a “warm up” to their long-distance run in November. One of the oldest Brooklyn run routes in New York. However, people of all fitness levels and ages are attracted to the race which has become a much anticipated community event. Restoration 33rd10K RUN will be on October 12, 2014.

For the past 32 years, Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation has sponsored the 10K Run and Fun Walk bringing out runners and walkers from the tri-state region. Not only are participants impressed by Bed-stuy’s community character – culture, brownstones and rich history, they also enjoy the camaraderie and the energy this neighborhood run distinctly offers. Also the scenic route provides an excellent health and fitness opportunity for all, whether you are training for a marathon or simply looking to maintain a healthy lifestyle. This is an event for the whole family! For all those looking to get fit and have fun, we also have a bike ride, a kiddie run and 5K walk. From July through October, join Healthy Families on the Move at Restoration Plaza.
