Gotham Greens

How much to I love these guys.  And you don't get any more local than this.  Their Greenpoint green house is 10 miles from my apartment.  I just polished off a tub of their Gourmet Lettuce Medley in less than 24 hours.

Visit their web site here: Gotham Greens.

Today

What a beautiful day

I feel like I'm doing something
truly right here

And a lot of things seem to be drifting together

And it feels so good.

What's App?

It seems that each time I connect my iPod Nano to my lap top, the information collected by my Nike+ app is sent to my Nike+ account.  I have yet to be able to track my progress through my Nike+ account.  I have tried periodically, but to no avail.  But the web site does indeed encourage me to buy quite a number of Nike devises.  It's actually fine with me since I've never truly been a Nike fan.

But I've discovered Endomondo, and I have been using it the past few days.  There is a bit of a learning curve to it, and I'll let you all know what I think when I get the hang of it.  But so far, I really like it.

I will say that I have no issues with wearing a devise that can approximate how far I've power walked.  But wearing a devise which tracks where I am at any given moment, makes me quite uncomfortable.

Audrey Hepburn

To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow.

Yes.  It's that simple.

One for Mom

This is the time of year when my mom, of blessed memory, used to begin her annual major Passover cleaning of the kitchen.  Eventually all of our everyday meat, dairy and parve pots, pans, plates and silverware would be brought to the basement and exchanged for their Pesach understudies.  After eight days, the same exchange would occur again, but in reverse.

I don't live my life as religiously as I did when I was a child.  But I think using this time of year for a cleansing ritual would suit me really well.  G-D knows my apartment could really use it.  And I think it would be an active demonstration of taking control of my health, and make room for spring.

We kept kosher all year long, and then for Passover we would amp it up.  I'm reclaiming my body in the name of myself.  Time to amp it up.

This life lesson has been brought to you by Evelyn.

Whoop Whoop . . . Asics

A brand new pair of running shoes
Bought during a major sale
At New York Running Company
Columbus Circle
$69.92

As soon as I get purple laces for these puppies . . .
. . . they're really going to kick ass

The feeling I get putting them on
Heading out
And tearing up the pavement
Priceless

There are some things money can't buy
For everything else
There's bypass surgery
